We will take you to three different villages in Lapland that are all very different from each other. They are all around 30 minute driving distance from each other.
Äkäslompolo
Our first stop is Äkäslompolo. This village is also known as “The village of seven fells”. There are only about 400 permanent inhabitants.
We will visit the local nature centre where you will learn about the area, its history, culture and nature. There is a small restaurant in the Nature center where we will have lunch.
Snow Village
The Snow Village is a magical experience and I guarantee you have never seen anything like it. Every winter the Snow Village is built from 20 million kilos of snow and ice and every year it is different. There are spectacular ice sculptures, hotel rooms, a restaurant and even a wedding chapel all made of ice and snow. There is even an ice bar where you can order a drink that you enjoy from an ice glass.
We will spend a couple of hours exploring this magical place before heading to our last destination Levi.
Levi
During the next couple of hours you will see what it is like to be a tourist in Lapland.
Levi is the main tourist destination in western Lapland. By far most of the tourists stay here for their holiday. It is busy and there are a lot of good restaurants and services. Bars and nightclubs. Nice hotels and lots of people. If this starts to sound attractive then our tour is probably not for you.
Levi is quite small so in a couple of hours you can see most of it. You will have some time to explore it on your own. Maybe buy some souvenirs?
